the beautiful nature of the Landes

Less than 45 minutes from the hotel

To get to know the beautiful nature of the Landes, head north of Mont de Marsan and the wide open spaces of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park with its exceptional forest massif, one of the largest in Western Europe. In the heart of the park, the Ecomuseum of Marquèze takes you back to the life of the Landes de Gascogne in the 19th century. From the old sabre station, board the historic train for a journey through time. In this beautiful airial in the heart of the pine forest, visit the traditional half-timbered houses with their furniture and period objects.

To the north-west of Mont de Marsan, the Landes d'Armagnac opens up both historical and gastronomic horizons. The Bas-Armagnac vineyard, preserved by the pine forest, is the exceptional terroir of the oldest brandy in France. Vintage Armagnacs for exceptional moments, Floc de Gascogne for aperitifs or Blanche d'Armagnac for original cocktails... so many gustatory marvels to savour.

The jewels of the Landes d'Armagnac

A must-see

In the heart of this magnificent territory, the bastides dating from the end of the Middle Ages, these new towns with their typical architecture, are the real jewels of the Landes d'Armagnac. Not to be missed: Labastide d'Armagnac (one of the most beautiful bastides in the South-West), Saint Justin overlooking the river Douze or Mauvezin d'Armagnac founded around a single street.

South of Mont de Marsan, 17 km from the hotel, the ancient medieval town of Saint Sever is well worth a visit. A strategic city in the Middle Ages, an important stop on the roads to Santiago de Compostela, it has the memories of a rich past engraved in its stone.
